Former Kawempe South MP Mubaraka Munyagwa launches new political party known as Common Man’s Party (CMP) whose flag he intends to carry come 2026 presidential elections.
During the launch at Jacarada in Lubaga Division, Munyagwa said he will work with other opposition political parties that are serious to take the highest office.
Although it has just been launched, it founder who happens also to be the interim chairman, James Wantentena revealed that the party has been in existing for the last 20 years and admitted it has been vibrant .
The secretary General of CMP party Moses Bigirwa said they are positioning themselves as a political drive aiming at bridging what he termed as political gap in Uganda’s Political Arena.

‘’We have a simple ideology; Its us who decide, It’s public knowledge that there has been a gap in Uganda’s Political Arena and distance must be closed. All existing parties have operated under capitalist interest, ‘’ Bigirwa narrated.
The launch of CMP has occurred just weeks after the launch of the People’s Front for Freedom whose co-founder is veteran Dr. Kiiza Besigye.
