Kampala Metropolitan Police East continues with a series of disruptive operations on the night of 30th March 2026 in the areas of Butabika (Jinja Road Division), Kamwokya (Kira Road Policing Area), and Bweyogerere in Kira Division.
The operations, commanded by respective Division Police Commanders and supported by UPDF, and local leaders, targeted identified black spots known for harbouring criminals involved in drug abuse and robbery of pedestrians.
A total of 47 suspects were arrested during the coordinated operations. Several exhibits of narcotic substances were also recovered.
All suspects are currently in custody at respective police stations and have been charged with offences including public nuisance and possession of narcotic substances, pending prosecution.
The operations were successful, and Kampala Metropolitan Police remains committed to sustaining intelligence-led efforts to eliminate criminality and enhance public safety across the region.
