In an effort to enhance trading in the country and connect with global market, government launches Posta Uganda Digital Shop.
The digital Platform dubbed as PostCOM will aid small and medium scale enterprise not only in Uganda but also in the region to sell their products online.
Speaking to the reporters at the launch, the Minister of State for Information, Communication and National Guidance, Godfrey Kabyanga said the platform is aligned with Uganda’s vision of attaining a Ten Fold Growth Strategy that will see the country grow the economy to US $ 500 billion.
“ This is part of the Digital Transformation Road Map that was launched by the Vice President President early this year geared towards going e-commerce.’’ Kabyanga said.

The minister further explained, “ We can’t achieve our growth target of US $500 billion economic growth by 20240 unless we link up with the world, Posta Uganda developed PostaCom platform to help us go National e-commerce ‘’.
He implored entrepreneurs to take advantage of the new digital platform to improve their marketing capability but he however cautioned the mass to be aware of the fraudster who will also take advantage of the same and cone others.
James Arinaitwe, the Executive Director of Posta Uganda, said the website is free of charge and will be managed by the Government of Uganda, and products and services sold through the portal will be those permitted under UCC guidelines and the Constitution.
