The Democratic  (DP) President Norbert  Mao Warn the Ruling Party (NRM), to stop violent acts upon Uganda for they risk taking the nation into political chaos like it in 1980 and in the 1960s when acts of political agitators led to the loss of many lives and shrinking of the economy.

Mao’ warning follows chaotic acts in the NRM primaries that led to loss of lives to some people and alleged abductions something he say will lead the country into political turmoil.

While address reporters at the party’s headquarters along Balintuma road in Lubaga Division, Kampala said that the current situation in political parties in Uganda has unmasked lack of democracy in such political organizations.

“ No single politician from other parties that can lecture DP about democracy not even the ruling party because for them its worm because in their primaries people have even died due to chaos.’’ Mao asserted.

He further said, “DP warned UPC government in 1960’s and in 1980 but the leaders kept a death ear and history tells what happened.’’

Mao who is also the Minister  of Justice and Constitution Affairs  asserted that the purpose of politics is primarily to solve society’s problem but in Uganda it creates more than it can solve because of lack of patriotism and selfish interests.

“ The question of internal leadership in                 DP is already settled for the next five years those who are agrevieved should not continue lamenting and moaning all time but should come and we plan for the general elections. We are now embarking on the leadership of Uganda for 2026-2030.’’

“ We are not going to compete with regime change fundamentalists because its unsustainable our competition will be about offering Services.

He also said DP will field candidates in every elective position come 2026 general elections and it’s going to very soon start training its candidates to equip them with skills of mobilizing for funds and votes.
