He didn’t however single out opposition leaders who dwindle development in the area but asked voters to go for NRM candidates whom he said will listen and help implement the ruling Party’s manifesto.

“Those people you sent in Parliament and local government just come for eating and don’t listen to our programs which are people centred. This time round send me only those who are ready to listen,” President Museveni said without elaborating.

The President also outlined the seven pillars in NRM manifesto but put the emphasis on only four for instance ensuring Peace and Stability, Development, Prosperity and Employment.Emphasing that peace is a crucial aspect for everything in the country. He also talked about development that requires development of infrastructures and investment in income generating activities.

“Development is for all of us but being rich is for individual, if one grows cash crops like coffee he/she becomes rich and if there are many people in the country engaging in different income generating activities persistently then the country achieves economic development.” The president asserted.

In his explanation in trying to show people how to come out of poverty and as well help government to create employment activities  in the private sector, he used the documentaries that were captured on the progressive farmers from the different parts of the country as a way of telling the people in greater Mubende to emulated those who have progressed.

One of the progressive farmers in the video was Johnson Bagambe of Kamuli Municipality-Kamuli District who started chicken rearing on a 50*100 plot of land who gave a testimony after listening to President Museveni’s advice in 20227. According to the documentary, Bagembe start with only 500 chicks, in 2010 his farm had grown to 5000 layers now he has 11,000 layers giving him 2000 trays of eggs daily which fetches him UGX 20m per day and UGX 600M each month, while he employs directly 300 workers.

President Museveni also retaliated that NRM government gives advice to people on how grow rich and as well assisting with the necessary financial logistics like the PDM and seedling and livestock.

He advice people who own small land to stick to the Four-Acre Model Technic, where by 1 acre can be used for coffee plantation, the other for banana then the other grow food for subsistence survival and grass for zero grazing milk cow and in the house yards one can also keep poultry or piggery.
