“Our voters are more than 80% of voters of Uganda’s voting population. Don’t annoy them with wrong actions if you still want your party to be power.’’ Museveni warned.

“Such tendencies of injustice and corruption have made NRM lose popularity for instance religion and cultural institutions.’’ He sai

Speaking at the closure of the NRM national delegates’ conference at Kololo Independence grounds on Wednesday he welcomes the new leaders who have joined CEC and also called upon those who lost to continue working for the party to consolidate its achievements.

For the past two months, NRM has been involved in elections for its leaders right from village level, climaxing with the election of Central Executive Committee (CEC).

CEC is the top most decision making organ of the NRM.

He also asserted that NRM party is destined for the best with the new leaders whom he said they are vibrant and energetic.

Gen. Museveni however warned them against doing things that will annoy Ugandans.

“The 20 million members of NRM want justice, fairness and truth .They don’t want lies, corruption, sectarianism.  That why you hear those youths are making noise (about NRM youth elections). Nobody should pollute our NRM with bad behavior like use of money and corruption. They must be condemned,” Museveni said.

He also noted that there have been cases of corruption reported during the delegates conference, noting that action will be taken against culprits, some of whom he said have already been arrested.

Museveni asked the new NRM leaders to ensure as many Ugandans as possible join the money economy through wealth creation.

“Emphasize wealth creation to our people. Tell people that you don’t sleep on tarmac road at night or hospital or school .That’s why we tell you to understand the importance of wealth. Wealth is the one which is yours as an individual or family or company.  There are many tarmac roads in Kampala but the ghetto boys are here. There is tarmac, piped water and electricity but the ghetto boys are here. Therefore, you as leaders, you must understand the issue of wealth,” Museveni said.

“Every home must have wealth. Government is sending money through PDM. We are sending shs 100 million per parish and  it will be shs500 million in each parish. This is the beginning but if you do it well,  we can even add more money and say shs200 million per parish to change your lives. Make sure all homes in your areas get involved in wealth creation one by one. If there are those not involved, they will wake up slowly.”
