NRM Vice Chairman Urge Candidates to Avoid using Abusive Language

National Resistance Movement (NRM) Moses Kigong has urged his Party’s flag bearers to always tell the truth while canvassing for votes.

He said it doesn’t cost anything for one to tell the truth, while lies are distractive and however base on that while seeking for votes can never do any meaningful work for his people.

Kigongo made the remarks while officiating at the opening rally of NRM Kawempe North flag bearer Faridah Nambi who is also his daughter. 

He mocked NUP’s Presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi for telling people to ‘kwebereramu’ literally meaning you should be vigilant in elections.

“Don’t pledge shat you can’t fulfil if promise voters something and you fail to honor it them you will be regarded as a liar and will judge you on such wrong behaviour,” Kigongo cautioned his Party’s flag bearers.

The NRM number two also told Nambi to work towards uniting people and work with all persons of different walks of life something he says will help her to win back Kawempe North seat.

He also urged the voters to avoid voting for independent candidates because they are not answerable to any organised group therefore are ‘suicidal’.

” If you vote NRM leaning independents you will have done you party a de-service because president Museveni will not have people to work with.” Kigongo said.

He also cautioned Nambi and NRM supporters to avoid abusive and hate language while canvassing for votes from people who don’t support their candidates.

“ Be disciplined and respect everybody of the different status you come across,. Don’t demean anyone because you will be a shaming me.’’ Kigongo cautioned his daughter.  

Nambi promised to win back the constituency for the ruling party since losing it to opposition almost 30 years ago.
