On 11/03/2026 at about 0200 hours, Police received information about a white Toyota Wish motor vehicle suspected to be transporting stolen property. Acting on the tip-off, officers trailed the vehicle up to Nakulabye, where it later parked and the occupants began offloading slaughtered animals believed to be cows.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokeperson Racheal Kawala, officers swiftly moved in and arrested the three suspects who are currently in custody. The motor vehicle, a white Toyota Wish registration number UBG 345D, was also recovered with two slaughtered cows in its boot.
The suspects have been identified as, Saka Kisiga Salongo, Guloba Hamza, a butcher, and Bukenya John the driver of the vehicle.
She also said that preliminary findings indicate that the suspects allegedly stole the animals from the Zirobwe and Luweero areas. It is further alleged that the stolen meat is sold in kilograms in Nakulabye, with each kilogram going for UGX 10,000.
Kawala yet informed the media that Investigations into the matter are ongoing to ascertain the other market where they sell meat from stolen cattle and also net other culprits.
