Seventh-day Adventist President Pr. Kajoba Urge Youth on Election Manipulation and Violence

The President, Uganda Union Mission, Seventh-day Adventist Church Pr. Samuel Kajoba has urged the youth to reject any sort of manipulation and violence also to choose peaceful engagement,  dialogue, and responsible participation that safeguards the future of Uganda. 

While addressing reporters, in his end-of-year message, Pr. Kajoba also called upon government officials, the electoral body, security agencies, and political leaders to exercise integrity, fairness and service to the common good.

“Elections are not merely political events; they are a test of our values as a country, our Unity, and our commitment to peaceful co-existence,” Pr. Kajoba explained.

He appealed to all Ugandans to approach the 2026 general election period with calmness, restraint, and mutual respect. 

“Political differences must never lead to violence, intimidation, hate speech, or the spread of misinformation. Our diversity of opinion should strengthen democracy, rather than dividing our communities.” He urged.

He also highlighted the significant strides reached by the Seventh-day Adventist church in 2026 which include growth in the number of members by 35,310 new members across all 12 entities of the church. 

The church, according to Pr. Kajoba also registered growth in economic and social aspects. Where the church owns and operates one hospital and twenty-two (22) health facilities as well as running 620 educational institutions, including a chartered Bugema University. 

“Our education Institutions combined provide quality education to a total of 81,337 learners and employ a significant number of workers.’’

He also acknowledged the resilience, hard work, and strong spirit of community and faith exhibited despite challenges like the rising cost of living and rampant youth unemployment.
