The Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) has committed to support initiatives geared towards improving Air Traffic Safety Electronics Personnel (ATSEPs) through continuous training, modernization of systems, and promotion of professional standards in line with global best practices.
Fred K. Bamwesigye, the Director General of UCAA, made these remarks while closing a three-day IFATSEA Africa Regional Conference held at Speke Resort Hotel Munyonyo.

He emphasized the importance of such initiatives in capacity building, innovations such as artificial intelligence, and regional cooperation, which are essential for advancing aviation safety and efficiency.
According to Bamwesigye, among the important outcomes of this meeting were the collective agreement on the need for regional collaboration in the use of drones (UAS) for flight calibration, an innovation that holds significant promise in enhancing efficiency and reducing costs in air navigation services.
UCAA stands ready to work alongside AFCAC, industry partners, and fellow states to drive this important work forward.
