Police arrested wrong suspects in connection to the Murder of UK return couple in Entebbe, Wakiso district, but continue to search for the real murderer as it has also enhanced the reward to however have any information leading to the apprehending of the culprits.
While addressing reporters in a weekly security press briefing ACP Rusoke Kituuma said four individuals have been arrested but upon interrogation preliminary findings have indicated no connection attached to the crime.
He was reacting to the New Vision print story run on Friday, September 12, 2025 which indicated that two key suspects involved in the murder of an elderly couple in Entebbe, Wakiso district had been apprehended by police.
On July 6, David Mutaaga, 69, and his wife Florence Deborah,62, were murdered in cold blood at their home in Lugonjo-Nakiwogo cell, Entebbe Municipality by a an attacker, who stabbed them to death.
He further said, “ we have mounted a joint-security search that will help us getting information leading to the arrest of the actual suspects. The Director CID has even increased the reward to anyone having information regarding the murder of the couple from UGX 50 m to 60m,’’ Rusoke said.
“We arrested suspects based on intelligence and pointers but these have since been released because we didn’t find congent evidence connecting them to the murder.’’
