Museveni: Politics isn’t a game is a do or die- Decide Wisely

President has told the people of Kiboga to decide wisely and chose a leader who is capable of leading the nation, as well as ensuring peace and economic development.

In 2021 general election NRM lost in almost all constituencies in Buganda region where the leading opposition party, NUP got the majority of members of Parliament in the area. This time round leaders of the ruling NRM party are working hard to reclaim the region

While campaigning in Kiboga and Kyankwazi districts on Tuesday, the President told his supporters that politics isn’t just a game as many people think but it’s a do or die and that if people decide poorly they will suffer the consequences of their poor decision. 

“In 1962 people thought politics was a game and decided poorly which caused crisis in the subsequent years  and prompted me and my group to wage a war on the reigning government in order to normalise things and bring peace and stability, ” President Museveni asserted. 

“In 1962 I supported the Democratic Party and Mengo sidelined with Milton Obote the end result was crying, bloody and death to some  individuals like Kabaka Muteesa, and others.” He said.

The president also told the people of Kiboga to invest their money and time in farming and value addition on farm out put if they want to grow rich end enjoy life.

” People can now engage in any income generating activity due to the existing peace and stability in the country. The 40 NRM have been in power you have enjoyed peace and you have produced children and your children have also produced grandchildren. I just now implore you to stop subsistence farming and engage enter the money economy through production for market.” He implored Kiboga residents 

Kiboga residents asked government to avail them with coffee seedlings and a coffee factory to add value on their harvested coffee. 

The people of Kiboga through Minister Ruth Nankabirwa who doubles and NRM District Chairperson asked government avail them with coffee seedlings and a coffee processing factory that will help them add value on their product so as to earn bigger.

They also asked government to tarmac the roads that link their district to other neighbouring districts because they are in a sorry state, which make the transporting of goods difficult. 

The president entered his second day soliciting for votes in Buganda region which he started in Mubende district on Monday, today he will be campaigning in Mityana and Kasanda districts
