The Executive Director made the warning while addressing reporters at Uganda Media Centre on Tuesday. The registration fees remain constant at UGX 43,000 for PLE, 164,000 for UCE, and 186,000 for UACE.
Odongo also warned Heads of government aided schools not to get tempted of registering privately sponsored candidates as government sponsored because this amounts to a fraud act which cause financial loss to government and is punishable. Such errant Head teacher will be forced to double the amount defrauded to government.
He also asked Examination Centres to display the register of the registered students in a conspicuous place at the school notice boards, sixty days before the date for commencing the national examinations.
The Executive Director also implored candidates, parents/guardians to take keen interest in checking their registration status or for their children by sending an SMS to 6600. This requires one to know and type in the full index number of the candidates.
Late registration will commence on July1st, 2026 and close on July 31st, 2026, this however carry a penalty of 100% for PLE and 50% for UCE and UACE. Odongo informed reporters that there will be no more registration of candidates after July 31st, 2026.
