Lugazi Football Club has Dismissed Head coach Mugerwa

Lugazi Football Club has parted ways with her coaching staffs under mutually agreement after failing to reach the management expectations.

 Head Coach Simon Peter Mugerwa and assistant Coach Robert Sekweyama have been relieved of their duty with effect from June 1, 2026 according to the statement released by the club’s management.

The document reads in parts, “Mugerwa and Sekweyama worked exceptionally hard throughout their time at the club, but both the results and the performances fell below the team’s targets and expectations.

“We thank them for their efforts and wish them well for the future endeavors.’’

The statement issued further reads, “the club is now exploring options for the Head Coach and Assistant Head Coach roles, and further updates will follow in the due course.’’

Lugazi FC narrowly survived relegation having finished 13th in the 2025-26 Uganda Premier League with only 25 points collected from 5 wins and 10 draws.
