It’s not yet over until it’s over, former Speaker of Parliament Anita Annet Among’s luxurious vehicles have been towed to Naguru Police Headquarters amidst tight security and investigation into her source of huge wealth continues.
Her bowing out of the speakership race didnit deter police from continiuning with the investigations and confiscating of some of the luxurious proterties such as her vehicles.
Among the AAA cars seen being towed were a Rolls-Royce and a Range Rover, both reportedly linked to the former Speaker.
Eyewitnesses revealed that the operation was carried out under a strong security deployment, with high ranking police officers closely monitoring the exercise to prevent any disruptions as crowds gathered to witness the rare scene.
The towing operation attracted public attention, with many residents and passers stopping along the roads despite the mid-morning drizzling to gaze at the luxury vehicles being escorted to the police facility.
Authorities had not yet issued an official statement by press time regarding the circumstances surrounding the towing of the vehicles.
The development comes amid growing public interest in high-profile political figures and their assets who some say the ‘big fish’ are normally spared when it’s comes to the declaration of wealth assets and the sources they derived them from.
