The Lord Mayor Ronald Balinwezo Nsubuga constitutes the new Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Executive Committee to help him spearhead is duties in his term of office.

He also defied odds when he appointed Lubaga II Councillor Faridah Nakabugo as his Deputy who was least expected to be the Deputy Lord Mayor.

Dental Surgeon Judith Nalukwago was presented to council and was unanimously accepted as the new head of Social Services while the former Nakawa Speaker Godfrey Luyombya is in charge of Planning and Civil Works. Pharmacist Shamim Nabasa is the Secretary for Finance.

Before he presented the City Executive Committee, in his inaugural speech Eng. Balinwezo told the council members that the success of the City Executive Committee doesn’t hinge only on the individuals appointed, but also on the ability to work together as a Unity, oneness, and shared purpose.

In emphasising his point the Lord Mayor cited out a  biblical Scripture  Genesis 11:6  which reads as follows, ” If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them.”

“This is the spirit we must embrace as leaders of Kampala”. Our City faces several challenges; poor roads, flooding, rampant unemployment, sanitation gaps, pressure on healthcare services, traffic congestion, “Eng. Balimwezo cautioned.

He further said, “These challenges can’t be solved through divisions, rivalry, or personal interests, they can only be overcome when the City Executive Committee, the Council, the technical teams, and the people of  Kampala are moving together with one mission.”

The Speaker JohnMary Ssebuufu adjourned the meeting and the next council meeting will seat on 4th June 2026 and on this day the City standing Committees will be elected.
