Residents of Kiteera Village in Mugasa Sub-County, Bukomansimbi District today wake in tears after finding one of their fellow resident murdered by unknown assailants who flew away with his motorcyle
The deceased has been identified as Swaib Sozi,55, and had two different homes with two wives. It’s alleged that one of the prime suspect had a love affair with the victim’s wife.
Kizito Semukutu the area Chairperson alleged that although the deceased’s wife made the alarm in the very early morning hours, the victim was murdered at around 10:00pm
Upon introgation by police, Sozi’s wife said that the assailants broke into their house and tied her husband, started cutting him with pang until he breathed his last.
However, according to Ssemukuutu, the area Chairperson, her statement contradicted with that of the children. The children alleged that the suspects knocked on the door and their mother opened for them and then started beating the deceased.
Ssemukuutu also revealed that this is the third person to be murdered in a similar manner in his area within a space of one year.
“Towards the end of last year a one Byekwaso was murdered in a similar manner and early this year a Catholic church catecst was also killed and his body was recovered from a well.” Ssemukuutu said.
The wife of the deceased Kevin Nakirijja 35, accepted having conaived with the murderer police arrived and wisked her away by police very quickly for fear of being acted upon by mob justice.
The Region Police Twaha Kasirye said that the body was transported to the city mortuary as hunt for the assailants is taking place.
