POLICE ARREST 40 SUSPECTS, RECOVER 16 SUSPECTED STOLEN MOTORCYCLES IN OPERATIONS

Kampala Metropolitan East and Mukono territorial police have conducted a series of successful disruptive operations targeting criminal hideouts and black spots in Kireka, Bweyogerere and Bukerere.In Kireka Zone C, Namugongo Division, Kiira Municipality, Wakiso District, police acting on intelligence raided a suspected illegal motorcycle reassembly garage where criminals are believed to have been keeping and dismantling suspected stolen motorcycles before reassembling them.

During the operation, twelve (12) male adult suspects were arrested, and sixteen (16) motorcycles whose ownership and status are being verified were recovered and taken to Jinja Road Police Station for further investigations.

Additional operations conducted in Wellspring, Kakajjo and Kazinga Hassan Trabi zones in Kira Division, as well as Bukerere Village and surrounding areas in Goma Division, Mukono District, targeted suspected criminals involved in narcotic substance abuse and street robberies.

A total of twenty-eight (28) suspects were arrested, including three females, and exhibits of suspected narcotics were recovered.

All suspects are in police custody and will be processed accordingly.
