Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja appeals to the individual and corporate companies to volunteer their trucks, fuel will be provided

Although Kampala Capital City Authority has procured more ten garbage trucks to bolster garbage management, Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja has appealed individuals who own trucks to give in their vehicles on voluntary basis to help in transportation of waste during the Saturday National Cleaning Day.
Speaking to the media in a press conference the prime minister said there’s a need for corporation if hauling and prompt evacuation of garbage collected by citizens will occur during the cleanup.
“ This time we don’t what to leave garbage along the roads as it was the case last time. I therefore appealed to individuals and corporate companies to throw a hand in this exercise buy giving us their trucks for easing collection and transportation of garbage on Saturday,’’ Nabbanja said.
This month’s official cleaning exercise will take in Kyaliwajala-Namugongo but local leaders country wide was directed to mobilize the masses to physically participate and security agencies like last month will enforce it.
The cleaning will still run from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and no movement will be allowed until the end of the exercise. Only ambulances, those travelling abroad with flight tickets, and vehicles carrying tourists have been allowed to move during the cleaning hours.
Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) have been directed to coordinate with private and voluntary collectors to make sure waste does not pile up on streets and collection points.
