
Uganda’s Opposition Democratic Political party is mourning the demise of their former Vice President Juliet Kafire-Rainer who died yesterday.
According to a senior member Kiwanuka, the deceased represented Kibuku in the Constituency Assembly during the making of the 1995 Constitution.
Kafire-Rainer is however remembered for declining to sign the Consitution Document citing un popular articles that according to her view then where not people centred.
Kiwanuka said that her body deserves to brought to Parliament for viewing as its the norm with former and current members of Parliament who pass on.
The deceased served DP in various capacities including the heading the Women’s league as well as vice president before retiring from active politics.
Although the Party’s leadership have not come out to announce Kafire-Rainer’s demise, sources indicated that a requalium mass will be held on 10th June at Lubaga Cathedral and her body will be transport to Kibuku District the following day and another requalium mass will take place at her village home at Bulangira village and she will be laid to rest on Saturday.
Efforts to reach the Party’s president or the Secretary General for more information were futile as the duo were not picking their know mobile phone numbers.
