The People’s Front for Freedom (PFF) party, Speaker of the Party’s National Convention Proscovia Salam Musumba has attributed the terror and chaos that occurred in Uganda in the 1980’s to NRM and its military wing during that time.
While addressing a joint press conference held at Uganda People’s Conference (UPC) Party headquarters said that the stories of Luweero Triangle, West Nile and Acholi Sub-regions shouldn’t be put on the late Milton Obote’s government only but the NRM/NRA also committed some of these atrocities.
“ The abduction of people the killing of Ugandans like it was in the early 1980’s is now taking center stage. They’re helping to expose the regime.” Musumba said.
I am slightly older than Uganda so i know what transpired in the 1980 and can confidently narrate what occurred and I can confidently tell the truth.”
She also said,” the current trajectory leads to one end terror and chaos. We invite the ruling party (NRM) to have a talk about our collective political future. We don’t want our country to be a blood bank again.”
The other members of the opposition political parties who jointly address media vowed to continue with voices demanding for the constitutionalism and rule of law.
Each speaker representing his/her respective political had similar views on who is responsible and accountable for violation of human rights giving an example of unlawful arrest of senior political figures who have divergent views from those of the ruling party.
They called on the speaker of parliament Rt. Hon. Jacob Mackson Oboth Oboth to come out and boldly denounce the position he was given by the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) because of its negative acts which they say are ruining the political arena of Uganda.
